What's on this page

Every cookie (and the one localStorage value) that seoauditfix.com sets, what each one is for, and why we don't show a cookie consent banner. This page is a companion to our Privacy Policy — see that page for the full data-protection picture.

Every cookie we set

Session cookie
Set by Flask to maintain your session while you use the site (e.g. admin login). Deleted when you close your browser. Strictly necessary.
seo_ref
Set only when you arrive via a consultant's referral link (?ref=<handle>), so any audit you run in the next 30 days is credited to them. HttpOnly, first-party, never used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Expires after 30 days.
seo_ref_email
Set alongside seo_ref only when the referral link also carried an optional &re= contact email. Used solely to route a copy of a purchased PDF report to that consultant. Same expiry and scope as seo_ref.
cookie_ok (localStorage, not a cookie)
Records that you dismissed the cookie notice. Stored in your browser only, never sent to our server.
Cloudflare cookies
__cf_bm and _cfuvid distinguish humans from bots and apply rate limiting. Strictly necessary security cookies. See Cloudflare's cookie policy.
Stripe cookies
Set only if you proceed to purchase a PDF report, to prevent fraud and process payment securely. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Why no consent banner

Under Irish ePrivacy rules (S.I. No. 336/2011) and GDPR, a consent banner is required for non-essential cookies such as advertising or analytics tracking. Every cookie above is either strictly necessary to run the service (session, Cloudflare, Stripe) or a first-party functional cookie used only to route attribution and delivery within this site (seo_ref, seo_ref_email) — none of it is used for advertising, cross-site profiling, or analytics. If that ever changes, we'll add a consent banner before it does, not after.

The referral program, in brief

If you arrived via a consultant's link, your audit is credited to them and — if you buy the PDF report — they may receive a separate copy of it by email, so they know you followed through. Your own email address is never shared with them. Full detail on /privacy and /for-seos/runbook.

How to disable cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so won't stop the audit tool from working — it just means a referral link won't be remembered on a return visit, and any admin login session will need to be re-established.
