For SEO consultants

The referral runbook

Everything the quick-start page doesn't have room for — what this is, what the client sees, and how to get the most out of it.

What this is (and isn't)

A free attribution layer for SEO consultants sending clients to seoauditfix.com. It is not a lead broker — we never introduce you to the client. It is not a paid affiliate program — you don't pay us and we don't pay you for the referral itself. It is not a CRM — no individual scan URL or client email ever shows on your public dashboard.

Three-minute setup

  1. Go to /for-seos and pick a handle.
  2. Optionally add a contact email — it unlocks your credit line on the client's report and a copy of any PDF they buy.
  3. Copy your link and dashboard URL. Bookmark the dashboard.

Sending your first client

The generator on /for-seos writes a short email for you — client's-site-first, not tool-first. That framing matters: leading with "I ran a free audit on your site" reads as a favour, not a pitch. Send it, and the link does the rest.

What the client actually sees

  1. They open your link — a seo_ref cookie is set for 30 days, quietly, no banner or prompt.
  2. They submit their URL and get the free on-screen results, same as anyone else.
  3. A small "Audit recommended by <you>" pill appears under the score.
  4. If they buy the €9.99 PDF report, your credit line appears on the cover.
  5. If you supplied a contact email, you get a separate copy of that same PDF by email the moment they buy it — their address is never included.

Watching your dashboard

/ref/<your-handle> shows total audits, the last 7 days, your average score, and a healthy/needs-attention/critical breakdown — a shape of the audience you're driving, without any individual detail. It's public and safe to link from your own site or proposal deck.

Use cases

  • Cold outbound — lead with the audit instead of a pitch.
  • Discovery-call follow-up — attach the link instead of a generic recap.
  • Quarterly client health check — re-run it and compare.
  • Post-launch verification for a site you just shipped.
  • A talk or podcast CTA — one memorable link for the whole audience.
  • Internal team enablement — everyone on your team gets their own handle.

Best practices

  • Pick a handle people can actually spell out loud.
  • Use a different handle per channel (email vs. LinkedIn vs. talk slides) if you want to see which one performs.
  • Put your link in your email signature.
  • Reply to clients within a couple of hours of them viewing the report — momentum matters.
  • Cite specific numbers from their report when you follow up, not just "check your results."

Use a dedicated email, not your personal one

The contact email you attach to your link travels in the URL itself, so it can end up wherever that URL is archived. Three easy options:

FAQ

What if a client runs multiple audits?

Every audit they run while your cookie is active (30 days from the last time they clicked your link) is credited to you.

Is my dashboard private?

The dashboard URL isn't linked from anywhere public, but it isn't secret either — it only ever shows aggregate counts, never individual URLs or emails, so there's nothing sensitive on it even if someone finds the link.

Can I change my handle later?

Handles aren't reserved or claimed — anyone can generate a link with any available handle. If you want a specific one, start using it; old links you've already sent will keep working with the handle they were generated with.

What if someone else picks the same handle?

Volume would be attributed to whoever's link the client actually clicked — there's no ownership or verification on handles today. Pick something distinctive to your name or agency to avoid collisions.

Do you ever contact my referred clients directly?

No. We never see enough of their information to do that, and it isn't the point of the program.

Is there a paid / white-label tier?

Not yet — see the agency edition CTA on /for-seos if you'd want one.
